| Bio: |   Well seeing as you made it, I guess I should say something clever informative and witty about myself. Ah shucks, there's no chance of that, so here's the mundane stuff. I often find myself screaming at the foibles of modern life and popular culture. It frustrates me so much that it's either post my thoughts here or shout them drunkenly from a park bench whilst clutching a brown paper bag full of white spirit. If you agree (or if you don't), read along and let me know. Oh, if you can't think of anything to write in your Bio or think of at least 100 things that interest you - don't even bother. "Hanging out with friends" is not a hobby, it's what you do whilst you engage in your hobby and "chilling out" means doing nothing and who's interested in hearing about you doing nothing? For years I refused to use this journal to talk about personal things, but more and more I'm using it to write down my feelings. I'm having a bad time of things as of late. Don't worry about it - there's still loads of random shit in here too! I love to quote the late, great Bill Hicks and I wish I had a spoonful of his talent and insight. He may be gone for a few years now, but a lot of what he said is as relevant today as it was then. If some people can listen to what a 2000 year old carpenter had to say, then 11 years is nothing. If you can tell me where to draw the line between humourously ranting at the foibles of society and just plain being a grumpy old tosser, let me know as I think I am walking a tightrope here. I'm pretty quiet in real life, but it's nice to have a cathartic place to vent steam. After a bout of severe depression a couple of years ago, which has recently reared its head in a major way again, I think I need a place to channel my thoughts of frustration and anger at the world so that I don't do anything stupid again. I feel shy and uneasy with others on a one to one basis, but I do okay in a crowd as long as I can fade into the background (which isn't easy when you're 6' 7" like I am). While you're enjoying the party, I'll be the quiet loner in the bell tower with a gun and a pack of sandwiches. Enjoy the show. In an effort to be kinder to the world around me, I once adopted a chimpanzee, Charlie at Monkey World in Dorset. They are a very worthwhile organisation and I can't recommend endorsing them enough. Animals are much better company than people at times. If you are looking for some words of advice: If you're being chased by a police dog, try not to go through a tunnel, then on to a little seesaw, then jump through a hoop of fire.
